Razzamataz Carlisle students score double win in awards!

Students from Carlisle came out on top to claim a double Award win at the recent Conference for the Dragons’ Den backed theatre school franchise.

The dedicated students and their teachers beat off stiff competition from the other almost 50 schools in the Razzamataz network, much to the delight of their Principal Debbie Mitchell

“It was a huge honour to accept these Awards on behalf of my students, their supportive parents and my team of teachers and staff,” says Debbie. “To make Razzamataz Carlisle this wonderful school is truly a team effort and the most important part of winning is being able to recognise all of the hard work and commitment that is displayed each week.

Razzamataz Carlisle was awarded Best Showcase and Best Community Spirit Awards, which were judged by theatre director Max Reynolds, who has worked on a wide range of both West End and touring shows including Avenue Q, Little Shop of Horrors and The Witches of Eastwick.

“It was clear that Debbie and her team really understand what goes into making a great show,” says Max. “From introducing the children to a wide range of shows to clever staging that allowed the performers to tell a story in a short amount of time, every element of the showcase was meticulously planned and presented.”
