Carlisle students score double win in national franchise awards

Students from Carlisle came out on top to claim a double Award win at the recent Conference for the Dragons’ Den backed theatre school franchise. The dedicated students and their teachers beat off stiff competition from the other almost 50 schools in the Razzamataz network, much to the delight of their Principal Debbie Mitchell.

The awards were judged by theatre company owner Matt Lee Alison. Matt explained that the exceptional level of high quality entries at the Razzamataz Conference made judging a difficult task but it was clear why Carlisle should come out on top.

‘The talent of your students never ceases to amaze me! But that great talent has to be nurtured, taught and inspired! That is exactly what Razzamataz Carlisle have shown they are more than capable of. The show concept was outstanding. The music chosen great. Choreography was creative and age sensitive and the show was put together with precise professionalism.’’ Says industry judge Matt, ‘Razzamataz Carlisle took these great qualities to the next level. There was not one t not crossed or one I not dotted. From encouraging the students and their families to help chose some of the content, the intense audition process, amazing costumes, tech plots, rehearsals, logistics of the day and most importantly the performance, this school has achieved something that most Professional Theatre companies would be happy if they got to 50% of where this school was. The video was stunning to watch and truly was a remarkable piece of theatre. This was no Showcase this was a stunning piece of theatrical performance! Every student, teacher, chaperone and family member should be extremely proud that they were part of “The Greatest Show” A massive congratulations to Carlisle!’’
