A Roaring Success at Razzamataz Carlisle Summer School!As children and their parents prepare to go back to school, we look back over the amazing achievements from our youngsters who attended our summer school. This year’s theme at Razzamataz Carlisle was based on the hit Disney film and West End sensation ‘The Lion King.’ As well as participating in the iconic songs, students also got to explore the themes of the show and learnt to delve into the story in more depth when they got an exciting visit from West End cast member, Tamara Patterson McKoy.! |
Tamara visited the summer school to lead a ‘Lion King’ inspired masterclass with the aspiring young performers. Her experience with the hit productions comes from appearing in the West End cast at the Lyceum Theatre for 3 consecutive years! “The Lion King is a wonderful show where children can examine the motivation and development behind each character,” explains Tamara. “The music is world famous and the story resonates with every age group, making them laugh and cry in equal measures. As well as it being lots of fun, the story has many positive messages for children and it is a pleasure to share them with the students of Razzamataz.” The teachers and children spent time devising the scripts, working on the characters, learning songs and dances and preparing for the final day performance, for some, the first time they have ever performed in front of an audience. |
